Your patient journey

Your dental implant journey, step by step

Every implant treatment at Shenstone Dental Centre is carefully planned, so you know exactly what's happening at each stage.

  1. Consultation

We assess your mouth, talk through your goals and explain whether implants are right for you.

  2. 3D scans

Where clinically needed, a detailed 3D CBCT scan of your jawbone helps us plan the position of your implant precisely.

  3. Implant placement

The implant is placed into the jawbone under local anaesthetic to act as a new root. Sedation is available if you need it.

  4. Healing

Over the following months, the implant bonds with the jawbone to create a stable foundation.

  5. Your new teeth

Your natural-looking crown or teeth are fitted to complete your treatment.

FAQs

Dental implants in Lichfield: your questions answered

What happens at the Implant Open Day?

You'll have a relaxed, one-to-one appointment with one of our implant clinicians. We'll talk about your teeth and goals, carry out your free 3D digital scan (and a CBCT scan if clinically required), explain your implant options and give you clear guidance on fees and finance. There is no obligation to go ahead with treatment.

What's included in the open day offer?

Patients who attend an appointment on Saturday 21 November 2026 receive a free implant consultation with X-rays, a free 3D digital scan, a free CBCT scan when clinically required and a free goody bag. Together, this could save you up to £350.

Will I definitely need a CBCT scan?

Not always. A CBCT scan gives a detailed 3D view of your jawbone and is used when your dentist decides it is clinically needed to plan your treatment. If you need one at the open day, it is included free of charge.

Do I need to register for the open day?

Yes. Appointments are limited, so please register your details and our team will call you to book a time on Saturday 21 November 2026.

Am I suitable for dental implants?

Many adults with missing teeth, failing teeth or loose dentures can be considered for implants. Suitability depends on your general health, gum health and the amount of jawbone available. Your dentist will assess this and may recommend a 3D CBCT scan.

Does dental implant treatment hurt?

Implants are placed under local anaesthetic, so you should remain comfortable throughout. Most patients describe any discomfort afterwards as mild and manageable. Sedation is also available for nervous patients.

How long do dental implants last?

With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, dental implants can last for many years. The crown or teeth attached to the implant may need replacing over time.

How long does implant treatment take?

It varies from patient to patient. After placement, the implant usually needs a few months to bond with the jawbone before your final teeth are fitted. You'll be given a personalised timeline at your consultation.

How much do dental implants cost and can I pay monthly?

The cost depends on how many teeth are being replaced and the type of treatment you need. You'll receive a clear, personalised quote, and finance is available to help spread the cost (credit subject to status). You can see our current prices on our fees page.
