This page shows a number of the more common conditions treated with dental implants. Implant dentistry makes a huge diiference to our patients lives. It’s not just in the day to day function of our teeth – eating, talking, smiling and so on but it’s the confidence that implants bring to people. They really are the closest thing to nature that we have. The images below show a range of treatments, from simple cases missing one tooth to complex full mouth reconstructions implants have many uses. All of these cases have been treated by Dr Nesbitt at the practice in Shenstone and all of the laboratory work is by Mr Adrian Rollings.
Case 1 Single implant replacing front tooth.
This young lady presented with a front tooth that was loose and needed to be removed. A single implant was placed.

Case 2 Single implant replacing missing upper front tooth.
This gentleman had lost a front tooth several years ago. This had been replaced with a stick-on bridge (a Maryland bridge). However the bridge came loose quite often so an implant was placed and has proven to be a reliable solution.

Case 3 Implants to stabilise a loose lower denture.
This lady worn full dentures in her upper and lower jaw. the jaw bones had shrunk because she had lost her teeth many years ago. this left her dentures with very little support, especially in the lower jaw. her lower denture was very loose and rubbed her gums, making eating and socialising difficult. a new set of dentures was made and two implants were placed in the lower jaw. This provided this lady with a solid and secure solution to her problem. she could eat, talk and socialise without the worry or embarrassment of her dentures moving.

Case 4 Implants to replace missing lower teeth.
The man was missing a number of lower teeth and struggled with a denture. Seven new teeth were provided with four implants to give a solid and secure set of teeth.

Case 5 Implants to stabilise a denture after tumour surgery.
This young man had had a tumour removed from his lower jaw. This was reconstructed with bone grafts and implants (surgery preformed by Mr Nick Grew at the Nuffield Hospital in Wolverhampton). Six implants were placed and used to fix a denture securely in place. this restored this young man’s appearance and confidence, allowing him to eat, smile and talk normally.

Case 6 Full reconstruction replacing all upper and lower teeth.
This gentleman worn part upper dentures but all of his teeth were failing and needed to be removed. he didn’t want to wear dentures but wanted a fixed in place set of teeth. While the patient was asleep his remaining teeth wre removed and replaced with dental implants (surgery preformed by Mr Nick Grew at the Nuffield Hospital in Wolverhampton). A provisional set of teeth were fitted 3 days after the surgery allowing the patient to smile, talk and eat properly in a very short space of time. after the implants had healed fully (around three months later), the temporary set of teeth were replaced with a final set of teeth, fixed to the implants. This gentleman was delighted that he had been able to avoid the need to wear dentures at any stage of his treatment and still insists that he had no pain!

Case 7 Full reconstruction replacing teeth failing because of gum disease.
This lady had suffered from severe gum disease over many years. he teeth were loose and unsightly. she decided to replace her teeth with implant supported restorations. he teeth were removed and replaced with dental implants. upper and lower fixed bridges were placed allowing her to enjoy eating, socialising and playing her clarinet again.

Case 8 Full upper implant supported set of teeth.
This lady had a lot of missing upper teeth. her remianing upper teeth were failing and needed to be removed. Her upper teeth were removed and implants palced on the same day. A fixed in place set of teeth was made and fitted to the implants. She can now smile, talk and socialise with confidence and is thrilled with the result.
